Where Are We Going?

We now find ourselves on the fringe of the information age; once again. Some have coined the phrase BIG DATA to try to conceptualize the enormous amounts of information traveling through our universe. Currently, we are creating as well as capturing data from an array of sources; Medical, Financial, Business, Mathematical, Astronomical, Sub-Atomic, Personal, etc.

The ways in which we store and share this data are constantly improving as well. Scientists have devised Database Management Systems to give structure and order to this vast array of data; thereby enabling men and women the ability to quickly retrieve information relative to their particular disciplines or vocations.

While database technologies are making major advances, the internet is also improving. The internet, initially designed to transport files from site to site, has now become a better means of communications.

"The internet is now a complex communication system, and has become a critical element of the infrastructure of society."
"It was not constrained by a plethora of standards and regulations. Therefore, it evolved to what, where it is today"
Prof. Dan C. Marinescu, Cloud Computing: Theory and Practice

These improvements are propelling the rapid realization of Cloud Technology; Public, Private and Hybrid. The deep comprehension of Dynamic Infrastructure Technology as well as business and financial considerations will drastically affect the choices of subsequent operations of technical alternatives in our world. We must be able to translate and communicate high level business and technical requirements into practical infrastructure solutions.

The ability to contrive and create a better world is readily upon us. "Global Order can arise from local interactions"; Alan Turing
Thus, we must focus and remain vigilant and steadfast in our realization of Global Wholeness, as well as Universal Union.

Quantum Physics and the Occidere Travailler™

In the nineteenth century, the Classical Physics of the brilliant Sir Isaac Newton was the cornerstone of the scientific community.  Unfortunately, Classical Physics was unable to completely explain all the events that are occurring at the Sub-Atomic level. This conundrum brought about a whole new understanding of the fundamental universe at the Sub-Atomic level; and Quantum Physics was born.

The first assignment of this new theoretical physics was to explain the Photoelectric effect and Line Spectra. Hence, our Occidere Travailler would soon be discovered.

Windows XP migration lessons: Focus on application compatibility

As time runs out on security support for Microsoft's Windows XP operating system, it is believed that a sizable number of companies are still struggling to start the Windows XP migration process or to complete the transition to a more modern platform. Security pros at organizations that have wrapped up large-scale XP migrations say it's best to focus on application compatibility and, more broadly speaking, not lose focus on the big IT picture.

How to Deploy Safe Effective Clouds

To achieve a safe, effective cloud computing deployment, EY advises executives to shift their focus toward building a secure, trusted and audit-ready (STAR) cloud environment. These six domains contain the various controls and procedures required to support a STAR environment: organization, technology, data, operations, audit and compliance, and governance.
